KERALA SCHOOL SASTHROLSAVAM 2022

On October 18, 2022, Govt Boys Higher Secondary School Karamana hosted the Thiruvananthapuram, South Education, Sub District level Kerala School Sasthrolsavam 2022–23. A five-variant event called Sasthrolsavam combines scientific fairs, math fairs, social science fairs, work experience fairs, and IT fairs. The goal of such a large-scale event is to develop students' skills in fields like science, work experience, etc. through the educational procedures, which would ultimately benefit the entire society. The State Education Department sponsors the Sasthrolsavam, which attracts students from Lower Primary through Secondary, as well as from Higher Secondary and Vocational Higher Secondary sections.

We got the chance to volunteer for a variety of activities during this Southern District work experience competition, and we even experienced being addressed by numerous kids as "teachers." Competitions started at 9:30 am after the inauguration. There were 35 events in all, attended by students from different schools. Students with talent demonstrated their skills and won the judges' and audience's approval. 37 students from Government College of Teacher Education travelled there to assist with the programme coordination, and they did so with great sincerity.

We volunteered for the coconut shell craft competition, and it was a whole new experience for Chinju and myself. For pupils in the LP, UP, HS, and HSS categories, this activity was held. The students worked quickly and creatively to complete the project, and I had the chance to engage with them and was blessed to feel their affection. This contest was taking place infront of the classroom. We distributed the chess pieces and instructed them on how to play. This was my first time volunteering since I used to, and I really loved it.

The experiences that the students gained from participating in other volunteer activities, such as organic food preparation, beadwork, vegetable printing, flower creation, doll creation, coconut shell creation, number chart, still models, working models, agarbathi creation, book binding, bamboo product creation, embroidery, fabric painting, paper craft, puppet creation, and umbrella creation, were also very diverse.

The competition ended at 1 pm, and the judges arrived to do the evaluation. After that, everyone who had signed up to participate and volunteer received lunch. This was was our first group activity and this helped to know each other and this was a variety experience and we all enjoyed it.
