On 10th August 2023, the Government College of Teacher Education (GCTE) officially inaugurated the Aksharam - Bookathon campaign. Project Aksharam aims to transform 34 community learning centres for students from tribal areas by providing a conducive learning environment and establishing libraries to foster a culture of reading and knowledge exploration. The Bookathon campaign, which actively involves students from various colleges within the district, seeks to collect books to stock these libraries, empowering and uplifting underprivileged young minds. During the inauguration event, Sruthi GS participated by passing a book to the collection, and Shiba Teacher also contributed by sharing a book, marking the commencement of this noble campaign. The event was coordinated by student coordinator Bhagya Murali, making it a memorable and impactful occasion.
