ANTI-RAGGING DAY

 


On 17th August 2023, the Government College of Teacher Education, Thiruvananthapuram, celebrated Anti-Ragging Day. The event, coordinated by the college union, Anti-Ragging Cell, and IQAC, featured a session titled "Ragging in Educational Institutions: From the Human Rights Perspective."

Advocate Maya V., founder of CLAP for India, was the keynote speaker. She delivered an insightful talk on the human rights implications of ragging, emphasizing the need for a safe and supportive educational environment.

The session, which began at 10:00 AM, saw active participation from students and faculty. Advocate Maya V.'s presentation inspired attendees to stand against ragging and promote a culture of respect and dignity. The event successfully raised awareness about the harmful effects of ragging and reinforced the college's commitment to maintaining a ragging-free campus.
