COLLEGE TOUR

On March 22, 2024, the fourth-semester B.Ed. students embarked on a memorable one-day college tour, exploring Chitharal Jain Temple, Triparappu Waterfalls, Padmanabhapuram Palace, and Kanyakumari. Accompanied by four enthusiastic teachers—Dr. Kumar S, Dr. M. Omanasheelan, Dr. Sreeja I, and Dr. Chitralekha—the group set off at 6:40 am with Manasi Travels. Breakfast was enjoyed at Annies Kitchen in Udiyankulangara before reaching the Chitharal Jain Rock Temple around 9 am. Perched on a rocky hill, this ancient temple fascinated students with its intricate carvings and historical significance.Next, we visited Triparappu Waterfalls, arriving at 10:45 am. The serene waterfall and its natural pool offered a refreshing break and stunning photo opportunities. Afterward, we proceeded to Padmanabhapuram Palace, but found it closed for lunch. Instead, we had a lovely meal at Muttidichan Parai Church before heading to Kanyakumari.

Reaching Kanyakumari by 3:30 pm, we explored the famous Vivekananda Rock Memorial and, though we missed the Thiruvalluvar Statue due to maintenance, enjoyed a boat ride and the beautiful surroundings. We were disappointed by a clouded sunset but made up for it with some vibrant shopping in the local markets.

Dinner at “Gowri Sankaram" in Nagercoil wrapped up our day before we returned to college by 11:30 pm. The trip was a delightful blend of exploration and fun, made memorable by the constant support of our dedicated teachers.
