I kicked off the second phase of my Internship at Govt Model B.H.S.S Thycaud on June 12, 2024, diving into the world of higher secondary education with a focus on Commerce. My classmate, Ajmal Roshan, is alongside me, while our friends—Vignesh, Gowry Venu, Anjana, Arsha, Linu sister, Jiji sister, Reshma, Aifuna, and Krishna Kumar—are busy in the high school section.The first two weeks were a bit slow on the teaching front, with a lot of focus on admission duties. I helped with processing admissions and handing out TCs and CCs for students transferring to other schools. It was quite fun getting to know the students and their stories. In between, I managed to draft some lesson plans to stay productive.
I was assigned to teach Business Studies in the +2 F section under the guidance of Ratheesh sir, which I’m excited about. On June 19th, we had a school assembly where the Principal gave an inspiring speech. It was a much smaller affair compared to the grand assemblies at St. Mary’s where I did my first phase of teaching practice.We also had the "Praveshanolsavam" for the new plus one students on June 24th, with a special function held in the assembly hall to welcome them.Overall, it’s been a great start with a mix of admission duties and preparation for teaching. Looking forward to more exciting experiences in the coming weeks!
